Speed-The-Plow casting now confirmed

Final casting has now been confirmed for Speed-the-Plow, by David Mamet, which opens at the Old Vic 12 Feb 2008, following previews from 1 Feb - running to 26 April 2008.

Joining previously mentioned Kevin Spacey (Charlie Fox), will be Jeff Goldblum (Bobby Gould) and Laura Michelle Kelly (Karen).

Jeff Goldblum career spans film, television, and theatre. His Theatre credits include "The Pillowman" on Broadway in 2005. His extensive film credits include Death Wish, California Split Nashville,Jurassic Park, Independence Day, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Holy Man, The Prince of Egypt, Nine Months, Annie Hall, The Big Chill, Silverado, The Fly, Deep Cover, The Right Stuff, Between The Lines, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Into the Night and The Tall Guy.

Laura Michelle Kelly, who is currently playing 'Galadriel' in "Lord of the Rings" at the Drury Lane Theatre, won an Olivier Award for originating the title role in "Mary Poppins" in London. She has also appeared in "Les Miserables", "Mamma Mia", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Whistle Down The Wind" in the West End and "Fiddler on the Roof" on Broadway.

Kevin Spacey is Artistic Director of The Old Vic Theatre Company. He directed its inaugural production Cloaca, before appearing in National Anthems, The Philadelphia Story, Richard II and A Moon for the Misbegotten. Films include Superman Returns, Beyond the Sea , The Usual Suspects , American Beauty , Swimming with Sharks, Se7en, LA Confidential, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Negotiator, Hurlyburly, K-Pax and The Shipping News.

Speed-the-Plow is directed by Matthew Warchus, designed by Rob Howell, lighting by Paul Pyant.

Hollywood producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox engage in a verbal boxing match centered around the eternal debate of art versus money. Should Gould go for another bad blockbuster that will make his fortune or put himself on the line for an adaptation of a spiritual, apocalyptic novel offered to him by his beautiful secretary?
