STARLIGHT EXPRESS CELEBRATES 7,000 PERFORMANCES
Tuesday 9th January 2001, will see the 7,000th performance of Starlight Express at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, and on 27th March 2001, the musical will go into its 18th year.
8 million people have seen the London production. The show has taken over 446 million ukp worldwide and 140 million ukp at the Apollo Victoria.
It is second only to "Cats" as the longest running musical in British theatre history.
Produced by The Useful Theatre Company Ltd, it is currently taking bookings to 27th Oct 2001. It is directed by Trevor Nunn, has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, design by John Napier , costume design by Liz Da Costa, choreography by Arlene Phillips and lighting by David Hersey.

KARYNA THORNE-BOOTH and SALLY BLIAUT (aged 32) from Jersey. They have seen the show over 820 times.
JEAN-CLAUDE WILSON (aged 17). He has seen the show many times since he was 10. He is now at Drama School. Learning to roller skate so he can audition!
ALISON HOWE, aged 17, has seen the show every 3 weeks since 1993.
CHRIS and GORDON CLARKE. They see the show every Wedding Anniversary: they have seen it over 40 times. They met on a visit to "Cats".
