Yes, Prime Minister returns at the West End 6 June 2012

Yes, Prime Minister, returns to the West End from 6 June 2012, at the Trafalgar Studios 1, booking to 12 Jan 2013.

Casting has not been announced yet.

Yes, Prime Minister is written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, the original writers of the classic TV series Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister.

It is directed by Jonathan Lynn, designed by Simon Higlett, lighting by Tim Mitchell.

As British troops are now out of Iraq and the war in Afghanistan is winding down, the focus has shifted towards Prime Minister Jim Hacker's desperate fight to avoid Sarkozy's fate as he battles the Europeans over greater austerity, the collapsing euro, assassinations by drones and serious diplomatic misbehaviour influenced by Silvio Berlusconi and Dominique Strauss Kahn. Sir Humphrey is in favour of greater austerity for ordinary people but not for senior civil servants.

This Chichester Festival Theatre production has had several West End runs: Gielgud Theatre (17 Sep 2010 to 15 Jan 2011); Apollo Theatre (6 July 2011 to 17 Sep 2011); Gielgud Theatre again (20 Sep 2011 to 19 Nov 2011).
