The Tony and Olivier Award-winning playwright, whose show Arcadia opens at the venue tonight, had a career spanning more than five decades.

The show, based on the iconic film which starred Olivia Newton John and John Travolta, features hits including "Summer Nights", "Greased Lightnin’" and "We Go Together", all within an immersive environment.

Directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan, the play is set on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone following a climate catastrophe.

Hamilton's original Aaron Burr Leslie Odom, Jr will star in the West End musical from 3 July to 5 September.

Broadway's original Aaron Burr, Leslie Odom, Jr. joins the London cast of Hamilton for a limited summer season.

This five-time Tony nominated musical, which was produced on Broadway in 2000, is a retelling of Brontë’s novel that takes the gothic mystery into the 21st century.

Joining the cast are Jason Barnett, Richard Fleeshman, David Ganly, Patrick Martins, Daniel Mays, Oliver Ryan, Hayley Squires, Stanley Townsend, Zubin Varla, and Nicholas Woodeson.

Opening the season is Julius Caesar, which marks the first time Shakespeare's tale of friendship, betrayal and political violence has been staged in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

The company will be led by Broadway's Jordan Donica as The Phantom and Beatrice Penny-Touré as Christine Daaé.
