Production images have been released for the stage premiere of The Knowledge, directed by Maureen Lipman at Charing Cross Theatre. The Knowledge is an adaptation of Lipman’s late husband’s 70s television film. Jack Rosenthal’s story comedy is about a group of people training to become London black cab drivers by doing ‘The Knowledge’, the process by which cabbies learn the 20,000 streets in London. The film was shown in 1979 and starred Lipman alongside Nigel Hawthorne, Mick Ford and Kim Taylforth.
