Exclusive: First interview with Wicked's Alice Fearn and Sophie Evans
Watch the first interview with Wicked's new Elphaba and Glinda, Alice Fearn and Sophie Evans, exclusively on LondonTheatre.co.uk.
The pair took on the roles in July, and we sat down with the actresses backstage at the Apollo Victoria to talk about their history with the musical, find out their favourite moments from the show, and find out how they're getting on in the roles.
Alice Fearn, who plays Elphaba, joined the Wicked company in 2016 as Standby Elphaba. She has previously appeared in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Into the Woods and told us that during her time in Les Miserables, "Wicked was all anyone could talk about".
Sophie Evans took over the role of Glinda last month. She was the runner-up in BBC series Over the Rainbow, and went on to play Dorothy in the London Palladium production of The Wizard of Oz. She told us about the first time she saw the production, and being obsessed with Kerry Ellis.
Wicked opened at the Apollo Victoria in 2006 and is now the 16th longest-running West End musical of all-time.
Wicked Tickets, starring Alice Fearn and Sophie Evans, are available now.
