A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, opens at the Olivier Theatre, NT 9 July 2004, following previews from 28 June, and booking to 2 Nov 2004.

Book by Burt Shevelove & Larry Gelbart, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Directed by Edward Hall, the cast includes Desmond Barrit, Jane Fowler, Sam Kelly, Hamish McColl, Philip Quast, David Schneider.

Set design by Julian Crouch, lighting by Paul Anderson, choreography by Rob Ashford, sound design by Paul Groothuis.

A day in the life of Pseudolus - a liar, a blackmailer, and a slave who'll stop at nothing to win his freedom.

The National Theatre has also announced new dates and further casting for Iphigenia At Aulis, by Euripdes, translated by Don Taylor , which opens at the Lyttelton Theatre, NT 22 June 2004, following previews from 12 June. The play is currently booking to 24 June 2004, but from 20 April, will take bookings to 7 Sep 2004. Directed by Katie Mitchell, the cast includes: Kate Duchene ; Peter Needham ; Charlotte Roach ; Justin Salinger ; Dominic Rowan ; Annamaria Adams; Helena Lymbery; Penelope McGhie
