Set in 1943, audiences are transported to the Nazi occupation of Tunisia. Four months into the occupation, people are imprisoned in labour camps, unable to see a way out. Press material states: "You're buried up to your neck. You're dying of thirst, you miss your wife and your best friend just pissed on your face. How could things possibly get any worse?"

Adrian Edmondson will star in Once Upon a Time in Nazi Occupied Tunisia, returning to the London stage for the first time in five years, last in Bits Of Me Are Falling Apart at Soho Theatre. The cast is completed by Laura Hanna, Ethan Kai, Pierro Niel-Mee, Yasmin Paige and Daniel Rainford.

Once Upon a Time in Nazi Occupied Tunisia is written by Josh Azouz, making his Almeida playwriting debut. His previous works include The Mikvah Project at the Orange Tree Theatre and Buggy Baby at the Yard Theatre.

Eleanor Rhode directs, with scenic design by Max Johns, lighting design by Jess Bernberg and sound design by David Gregory.
