Full casting for David Baddiel's first original stage play has been announced, ahead of a world premiere at the Soho Theatre next month.

Titled God's Dice, the play will follow Edie, a university student in a physics class who wonders if they can scientifically prove the existence of God. Testing their marriage to a celebrity atheist author, the play will pit scientific and religious questions in a head-to-head battle.

Alan Davies will star as Henry Brook, the physics lecturer. Best known for appearing in television series including Jonathan Creek and QI, Davies' theatre credits include Auntie & Me at the Wyndham's Theatre and The Odd Couple. He is joined by Leila Mimmack as Edie, Alexandra Gilbreath as Virginia, Nitin Gantra as Tim and Adam Strawford.

The upcoming production will mark Baddiel's playwriting debut. Baddiel is a novelist and television presenter, also known for his comedy performances alongside Rob Newman in The Mary Whitehouse Experience and partnership with Frank Skinner.

Recent stand-up comedy shows by Baddiel include FAME: Not the Musical and My Family: Not the Sitcom, which later transferred to the Vaudeville Theatre and the Playhouse Theatre.

Casting has also been announced for the upcoming world premiere of Shuck 'N' Jive at the Soho Theatre. Olivia Onyehara and Tanisha Spring will star in a brand new play by Cassiopeia Berkeley-Agyepong and Simone Ibbett-Brown, following two black women who decide to write their own play.

God's Dice is at the Soho Theatre from 24th October to 30th November.
