The long running off-Broadway musical comedy Altar Boyz will receive its London premiere at the Greenwich Theatre in south-west London from 3 October to 18 October 2014.

Produced by Paul Taylor Mills Ltd, the musical will be directed by Stephen Dexter whose credits include 'Loserville' in the West End and the World Premiere of 'Honk!' at the Watermill Theatre. Casting and further creative team are yet to be announced.

Altar Boyz features a book by Kevin Del Aguila, and music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker. It was conceived by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport, and ran for over 5 years and 2,000 performances off-Broadway.

The show is a musical comedy based on a fictitious boy-band who are on the last night of their 'Raise the Praise' tour. The five boys, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham feature a pious pop act that is used to raising the rafters in every bingo hall across America. As their act travels to New York City, temptation is at every turn - but will the boys take a bite out of the forbidden apple?

The musical combines parody, humour, singing and dancing to create a truly original 90 minute musical that is set to "rock the masses of all denominations".
