"AN INSPECTOR CALLS " TO CLOSE NEXT MONTH.

J.B.Priestley's An Inspector Calls, is to close next month on 14th April 2001, after a run of nearly 6 years at the Garrick Theatre.

This production started life at the National theatre in 1991 and transferred to the Aldwych theatre and on Broadway before moving to the Garrick theatre in October 1995.

Directed by Stephen Daldry, this production has won a total of 19 awards.

Written in 1946, the drama takes us into the comfortable and complacent world of the Birling family who are disturbed during a celebration by the arrival of a mysterious police inspector. A young girl has committed suicide and it is revealed how all members of one family contributed to it.

It is rumoured that the show will go on tour and then return to the West End in a new venue!
