BBC releases 2012 Broadway Prom concert for streaming

The concert was lead by The John Wilson Orchestra and featured many West End stars.

BBC has announced that it will release its 2012 Prom, The Broadway Sound, available to watch on iPlayer.

The performance, which was lead by The John Wilson Orchestra at The Royal Albert Hall, takes a look at the history of Broadway's hit showtunes, with music by Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story, Candide), Cole Porter (Anything Goes), Jerry Herman (Mame, Hello, Dolly!), and more. Performers Sierra Boggess, Anna-Jane Casey, Seth Macfarlane, Julian Ovenden, and more perform with the orchestra.

The BBC Proms is a highly anticipated annual concert series that takes place live at The Royal Albert Hall each summer. The series had to cancel the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 shutdown, but plans to return with the same lineup in 2021.
