The upcoming West End production of Chicago has extended at the Phoenix Theatre, and is now booking until 6th October.

Previews for the Kander & Ebb musical begin next week, and the production will star Cuba Gooding Jnr, Ruthie Henshall, Sarah Soetaert, Josefina Gabrielle and Paul Rider until 30th June (casting for the extension will be announced closer to the time). Chicago officially opens at the Phoenix Theatre on 11th April, and tickets are available now.

Soetaert and Gabrielle play Roxie and Velma, two criminals facing murder charges who call on superstar lawyer Billy Flynn (Gooding Jnr) to get them off the hook as their trials hit the headlines. Henshall plays the matron of County Cook Jail, Mama Morton.

Featuring the songs "All That Jazz", "Mr Cellophane" and "Me and My Baby", Chicago opened on Broadway in 1975, was revived in 1996, and recently celebrated its 21st birthday in New York, where it is the world's longest-running American musical.

The musical was adapted into an Oscar-winning film starring Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2002.

Chicago is at the Phoenix Theatre from 26th March to 23rd June.

Chicago Tickets are available now.
