Cloud Nine casting confirmed at Almeida

Casting has been announced for Cloud Nine, by Caryl Churchill, which opens at the Almeida Theatre 31 Oct 2007, following previews from 25 Oct - running to 8 Dec 2007.

The cast includes James Fleet (Clive/Cathy), Mark Letheren (Joshua/Gerry), Tobias Menzies (Harry Bagley/Martin), Bo Poraj (Betty/Edward), Joanna Scanlan (Maud/Victoria), Sophie Stanton (Ellen/Mrs Saunders/Lin) , Nicola Walker (Edward/Betty).

It is directed by Thea Sharrock, designed by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Peter Mumford, with sound by Gregory Clarke.

Set in colonial Africa and modern-day Britain the play is about relationships - between women and men, men and men, women and women. It is about sex, work, mothers, Africa, power, children, grandmothers, politics, money, Queen Victoria and sex.
