This musical about the writer of 'Gigi' and 'Cheri' explores the life, loves and losses of Colette, one of France's most fascinating persons. Called 'the most truly liberated woman of the 20th Century', she was nevertheless a mass of contradictions: seduced at the age of 17; dominated, exploited and humiliated by the first two of her three husbands; but her death was marked by France's first ever state funeral for a woman of 80.
