New cast members joining Hadestown in the West End have been announced. They will begin performances from 15 September.
Joining the cast are Olivier Award winner Danielle de Niese as Persephone, Shaun Dooley (Mr Bates Vs The Post Office, It's a Sin, Saltburn, Hills of California) as Hades, Fayth Ifil (Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, Just For One Day) as Eurydice, Malinda Parris (The Greatest Showman, Hercules, & Juliet) as Hermes, and The Wanted's Nathan Sykes as Orpheus.
They join Melanie Bright, Spike Maxwell and Lauran Rae as the Fates; Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Gabriela Benedetti, Ollie Bingham and Sebastian Lim-Seet as the Workers, with Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda, Jasmine Triadi and Milly Willows as Swings.
Tony and Grammy winner Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown goes to the underworld and back, to tell the story of two couples: Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone. The musical blends American songwriting traditions, from indie folk, to pop, blues, and New Orleans-inspired jazz. Rachel Chavkin directs.
