Disney launches West End musical pop-up store in Covent Garden

Disney has launched its traditional summer pop-up shop in London's Covent Garden, celebrating their four current and upcoming musicals in the West End.
Located at 21 Long Acre, visitors have the opportunity to examine costumes and masks from the current West End production of The Lion King, as well as get up close to the lamp from Aladdin, which currently plays at the Prince Edward Theatre, and play an original Aladdin Sega video game, housed in custom-built arcade machines.
From the company's upcoming productions, visitors are able to immerse themselves in the world of Frozen, which opens at Theatre Royal Drury Lane next year, with a winter photo booth, and a super(califragilisticexpialidocious) Mary Poppins challenge.
Launching the shop earlier this week, Fiona Pearce, marketing director at Disney Theatrical Productions said: "This is Disney Theatrical's opportunity to welcome visitors of all ages from all over the world to come in, see a bit more about our shows and what goes into putting them together."
On the day of launch, Trevor Dion Nicholas, who currently plays the Genie in Aladdin, performed a jazz version of the number "Friend Like Me" and spoke about some of the costume pieces on show at the experience.
"The costumes are ridiculous and amazing", he said. "Right here, we have a Rafiki costume, which is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. And here, you get to see it up close, rather than just on stage."
Nicholas stars in Aladdin until the show closes to make way for Mary Poppins in September, but confirmed he would be staying in London, and is "popping into something [another show] in the fall".
