Donmar Warehouse announce spring season
The Donmar Warehouse has announced its Spring Season, which includes a new production of Lanford Wilson's Serenading Louie, and the world première of Mark Haddon's first work for theatre - Polar Bears. Later in the year the Donmar will stage a revival of Stephen Sondheim's Passion as part of a celebration of the composer's work in honour of his 80th birthday. Passion will be directed by Jamie Lloyd, and is rumoured to star Argentine Elena Roger.
Public booking for the following productions opens 14 Dec 2009. Booking dates for "Passion" will be announced at a later date.
SERENADING LOUIE by Lanford Wilson, opens 16 Feb 2010, following previews from 11 Feb - running to 27 March 2010. Directed by Simon Curtis, designed by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Guy Hoare, sound by Adam Cork. Portrait of two suburban American couples. Explores the destruction of dreams and the loss of passion and purpose.
POLAR BEARS By Mark Haddon, opens 6 Apr 2010, following previews from 1 Apr - running to 22 May 2010. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, designed by Soutra Gilmour, lighting by Jon Clark, sound by Ben & Max Ringham. One man's struggle to love, support and live with someone suffering from a psychological condition. John has never met anyone like Kay. When the moon is in the right phase, she is magnetic and amazingly alive. But when the darkness closes in, she is lost to another world, a world in which John does not belong.
