"FEAST OF SNAILS" POSTS EARLY CLOSING NOTICES! - MARCH 2002

"FEAST OF SNAILS" POSTS EARLY CLOSING NOTICES!

The Feast Of Snails , which had posted early closing notices at the Lyric Theatre a couple of weeks ago for 23rd Mar 02, will now close a week earlier on 16th Mar 02, after a run over only 4 weeks.

The play features David Warner, Philip Glenister, Sorcha Cusack and Siwan Morris.

Writen by Olaf Olafsson and directed by Ron Daniels, the play opened last month to very poor notices from the popular press: "It's a dreadful play" (Telegraph); "It is like bad Ibsen with zero plausibility" (Daily Mail); "Insipid and uninspiring" (Time Out); "The Feast of Snails is saved from closing in the interval only by the fact that, mercifully, it has no interval." (Independent).

The drama concerns a highly successful business tycoon, who is preparing for a solitary gourmet feast in the sumptuous surroundings of his home, when his plans are disrupted by the arrival of a young stranger. What follows is a battle of wits between reluctant host and unexpected guest during which dark secrets of the past are revealed.
