Full casting announced for A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre

Full casting has been announced for the Open Air Theatre's production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, which is set to open next month.

Directed by Dominic Hill, Amber James and Kieran Hill will take on the roles of Hippolyta/Titania and Theseus/Oberon respectively, while Susan Wokoma will play Bottom and Myra McFayden will play the role of Puck.

The cast also includes Remy Deasley as Helena, Gabrielle Brooke as Hermia, Michael Elcock as Lysander and Pierro Niel-Mee as Demetrius.

The cast is completed by: Liz Crowther (Starveling), Joshua Miles (Flute), Lee Mengo (Snout), Tomi Ogbaro (Snug) and Gareth Snook (Qunice/Egeus), with Matthew James Hinchliffe, Mei Mac, Simon Oskarsson, Yana Penrose and Emily Rose-Salter.

Hill's creative team will include Rachael Canning (designer), Emily-Jane Boyle (movement), Paddy Cunneen (composer), Ben Ormerod (lighting) and Simon Baker and Jay Jones (sound designers).

The Open Air Theatre season opens with a production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, which is followed by Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel in a co-production with English National Opera, and concludes with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical Evita, directed by Jamie Lloyd.

The Open Air Theatre's Olivier Award-winning production of Webber and Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar is also set to run at the Barbican in July.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is at Regent Park's Open Air Theatre from 28th June to 27th July.
