Full West End cast announced for Girl from the North Country transfer

Casting has been announced for Conor McPherson's Bob Dylan musical Girl from the North Country, which transfers to the West End in December. 

Shirley Henderson will reprise her role as Elizabeth Laine, the wife of guesthouse owner Nick. The couple live in Duluth, Minnesota (Dylan's hometown), and welcome a variety of guests throughout the show. A number of the original cast will also feature, including Arinzé Kene, Bronagh Gallagher and Debbie Kurup.

The cast will feature new members Hannah Azuonye, David Ganly and Karl Johnson when it runs at the Noel Coward Theatre from 29th December to 31st March.  

Azuonye recently appeared in Thick Skin at the New Diorama, whilst Ganly appeared in John Tiffany's production of Once, and Johnson appeared in the Old Vic's King Lear

The full cast is: Sheila Atim, Hannah Azuonye, Mary Doherty, Bronagh Gallagher, David Ganly, Shirley Henderson, Ciaran Hinds, Adam James, Claudia Jolly, Karl Johnson, Arinzé Kene, Emmanuel Kojo, Debbie Kurup, Tim McMullan, Sam Reid and Jack Shalloo.

The production, written and directed by McPherson, opened at the Old Vic in July of this year, and received positive reviews from the press, many praising Simon Hale's uniquly haunting takes on Dylan's music. Girl from the North Country features some of Dylan's best-known hits such as "To Make You Feel My Love", "The Times They Are a-Changin'", "Forever Young" and "Like A Rolling Stone".

Girl from the North Country is at the Noel Coward Theatre from 29th December.
