Griff Rhys Jones will play Ebenezer Scrooge in the concert production of A Christmas Carol with London Musical Theatre Orchestra at the Lyceum Theatre this December.

Rhys Jones is known for appearing on the television show Not The Nine O'Clock News with Mel Smith. On stage, he has appeared as Fagin in Oliver! at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Toad in The Wind in the Willows at the National Theatre.

A Christmas Carol with London Musical Theatre Orchestra tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, as he is visited by three spirits over three consecutive nights, showing Scrooge the life he has built for himself. The story sees Scrooge trying to save himself before it's too late. The story has been given some Broadway razzamatazz by Alan Menken, Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent, who have transformed the Dickens story into a Christmas spectacular.

Rhys Jones is joined by a cast including Lucie Jones who will play Emily and The Ghost of Christmas Future, after recently playing Elle Woods in the UK tour of Legally Blonde. Original Hamilton cast member Miriam-Teak Lee will play The Ghost of Christmas Past. Cedric Neal will play The Ghost of Christmas Present alongside Nicolas Colicos and Rosemary Ashe as Mr and Mrs Fezziwig respectively.

Further casting is to be announced.

There are many stage adaptations of A Christmas Carol in London over the festive season. Simon Callow takes to the Arts Theatre once more in A Christmas Carol with Simon Callow. Jack Thorne's adaptation of A Christmas Carol will also return to the Old Vic for a second year, after a critically-acclaimed run in 2017.

A Christmas Carol with London Musical Theatre Orchestra with London Musical Theatre Orchestra will be performed on 10th December 2018 and 17th December 2018.
