How to get the best Black Friday deals on theatre tickets in 2018

It's almost that time of year again. Black Friday is just around the corner and, as ever, LondonTheatre.co.uk will be bringing you the best theatre ticket deals on the market. To make sure you're all prepared for the big day, here's a guide to how to make the most out of Black Friday 2018.

• Mark it in the diary

Black Friday is traditionally the Friday following the Thanksgiving, which is always the fourth Thursday of November. This has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping period since the 1950s, and in the modern age sees retailers showcase their best deals.

The date to note in your diary for Black Friday in 2018 is 23^rd November.

• Be ready to try something new

Last year, there were deals on a huge spectrum of shows, ranging from hilarious musicals like Kinky Boots and The Book of Mormon to murder mystery plays such as The Woman in Black and Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution. This year promises to be no different, and with such a wide selection of musicals and plays on offer, it's a good idea to be open about which shows you might want to see.

Black Friday is a global event, with people from across the world fighting (sometimes literally) to get the best deals. Tickets are likely to sell for popular shows very quickly, so it's a good idea to act fast and bag bargain early in the morning. Then, if you want more of a theatre fix, you can always see what other deals are still available later in the day.

• Think ahead - it's nearly Christmas

Don't forget theatre tickets make a fantastic Christmas present alternative to a pair of socks. Utilise the offers and make someone's Christmas by gifting them a pair of tickets to their favourite show. Or, if you're looking for an excuse to miss the office party, the theatre is a perfect place to meet up with friends or family at Christmas.
