Jamie Lloyd Company announces 2022 season, with productions starring Emilia Clarke and James McAvoy

The Jamie Lloyd company will also present another run of its Olivier Award-winning production of Cyrano de Bergerac.

The Jamie Lloyd Company has announced its productions for 2022, including the returns of two star-led West End plays. The company's production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, adapted by Anya Reiss, will return in summer 2022 after closing at the Playhouse Theatre during previews in March 2020. Emilia Clarke will return to her West End debut role as Nina, which begins 29 June 2022 ahead of a 6 July opening night. Performances run to 10 September at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

The cast also includes Tom Rhys Harries as Trigorin, Daniel Monks as Konstantin, Indira Varma as Arkadina, and Sophie Wu as Masha, Katie Buchholz, Tina Harris, and Joseph Langdon. Additional casting is to be announced.

Prior to The Seagull's opening, the Harold Pinter Theatre will host a return engagement of Martin Crimp's adaptation of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac from 3 February to 12 March 2022. When Lloyd's production first played the Playhouse Theatre, it received the 2020 Olivier Award for Best Revival. From London, the production will play the Theatre Royal Glasgow from 18 to 26 March and finally the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York from 5 April to 22 May 2022. James McAvoy reprises his Olivier-nominated role as the title character.

The cast also includes Michele Austin as Ragueneau, Adam Best as Le Bret, Sam Black as Armand, Nari Blair-Mangat as Valvert, Vaneeka Dadhria as Beatboxer, Adrian Der Gregorian as Montfleury, Tom Edden as De Guiche, Eben Figueiredo as Christian, Jon Furlong as Annoying Person, Tazmyn-May Gebbett as Minder, Carla Harrison-Hodge as Denise, Mika Onyx Johnson as Usher, Joseph Langdon as Jean-Paul, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Marie-Louise, Evelyn Miller as Roxane, Nima Taleghani as Ligniere, and Brinsley Terence as Theatre Owner.

In addition to its main programming, the Jamie Lloyd Company has announced commissions for new work from writers Jade Anouka, Rachel De-lahay, Anya Reiss, and associate artist Nima Taleghani. Zawe Ashton, Soutra Gilmour, Mika Onyx Johnson have also been appointed as associate artists.
