King Lear with Pete Postlethwaite at the Young Vic

The Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse and Headlong Theatre Production of William Shakespeare's King Lear, starring Pete Postlethwaite in the title role, will transfer to the Young Vic Theatre, opening 4 Feb 2009, following previews from 29 Jan - running to 28 Feb 2009.

Public Booking opens 20 Oct 2008.

Directed by Rupert Goold and designed by Giles Cadle, the play has already sold out for its November run at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre.

A daughter's love is put to the test. Two families tear themselves apart. As a community teeters on the verge of disintegration, can change ever come without loss?

Pete Postlethwaite is a best known for his film credits including "Brassed Off", "In The Name Of The Father", "The Shipping News". He was last on the London stage in 2002 in "Scaramouche Jones" at the Riverside Studios.
