Les Liaisons Dangereuses casting update - Donmar

The principal cast has been announced for Les Liaisons Dangereuses, which opens at the Donmar Warehouse on 17 December 2015, following previews from from 11 December, and is booking to 13 February 2016.

Joining the previously announced Michelle Dockery, Janet McTeer and Dominic West will be Adjoa Andoh, Theo Barklem-Biggs, Morfydd Clark, Edward Holcroft, Jennifer Saayeng and Una Stubbs.

The production is directed by Josie Rourke, with set design by Tom Scutt, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Carolyn Downing.

Synopsis: "Former lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont now compete in games of seduction and revenge. Merteuil incites Valmont to corrupt the innocent Cécile de Volanges before her wedding night but Valmont has targeted the peerlessly virtuous and beautiful Madame de Tourvel. While these merciless aristocrats toy with others' hearts and reputations, their own may prove more fragile than they supposed."

Les Liaisons Dangereuses is written by Christopher Hampton and is based on Choderlos de Laclos' 1782 novel of sex, intrigue and betrayal in pre-revolutionary France. This production marks the play's thirty-year revival.
