"Little Women - The Musical" gala concert at Drury Lane 2 Oct 2005

There will be a gala concert version of Little Women - The Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane Theatre for 1 performance only on Sunday 2 Oct 2005

The show will feature Dave Willetts, Dillie Keane, and a cast of West End stars narrated By Sandi Toksvig.

Little Women - The Musical has music & lyrics by Lionel Segal, Book by Peter Layton and Lionel Segal based on 'Little Women' & 'Good Wives' by Louisa M Alcott .

It is directed by Gillian Gregory and produced by Dudley Russell for Pelion Productions Ltd.

Follows the saga of the March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, as they grow up in Civil War America.

Dave Willetts (Prof Bhaer) was first acclaimed as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables" at the Palace Theatre. When he went on to star as The Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" at Her Majesty's Theatre, he became the first person in the world to play both leading roles.

Dillie Keane (Miss Crocker) is one third of the cabaret act 'Fascinating Aida'.

Sandi Toksvig (Narrator) championed the case of "Little Women" in the BBC Big Read competition. She is a comedienne, writer, pundit and presenter.

Lionel Segal (Composer) won a nationwide song-writing contest at 17 that led to a scholarship to Guildhall School of Music. He composed Britain¹s first musical for the world of advertising, for Dupont, staged at the London Hippodrome. Signed to MGM for two years on Ken Tynan¹s recommendation, he later switched to the booming record business, establishing two independent record labels - Strike (with RCA) and GO (with Columbia). Among his many stage musicals are music and lyrics for "World in My Pocket" (commissioned by Ray Cooney) at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford; "The Pied Piper" and "Alice in Wonderland" for Laurier Lister.
