Marilyn & Ella - Sundays in Nov at Apollo Theatre

Marilyn & Ella , a musical play by Bonnie Greer, will play at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Ave, on Sundays 15, 22 & 29 November 2009.

Based on a true story, Marilyn & Ella explores how singer Ella Fitzgerald, came to worship Marilyn Monroe, not for her external looks but for the individual inside that few in the wider world ever caught a glimpse of. Interspersed with numerous hit songs from the era, including 'I Got Rhythm', 'My Funny Valentine', 'Every Time We Say Goodbye', 'Mack the Knife' and 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend'.

It is directed by Colin McFarlane and features Suzie Kennedy as 'Marilyn Monroe'. The part of Ella Fitzgerald has yet to be announced.
