New casting has been announced for Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, the world's longest running stage production, currently running at the St Martin's Theatre in London's West End.

As the production enters its 65th year on Friday 25 November 2016, the new cast took to the stage this week to begin performances, including: Karen Archer (Mrs Boyle), Simon Haines (Christopher Wren), Jamie Hutchins (Detective-Sergeant Trotter), Christopher Knott (Major Metcalf), Hannah Lee (Miss Casewell), Simon Roberts (Mr Paravicini), Tom Rooke (Giles Ralston), Kirsten Hazel Smith (Mollie Ralston).

Since The Mousetrap opened 450 actors and actresses have appeared in the play. It has been presented in 27 different languages in more than 50 countries around the world. Having achieved many world records at The Ambassadors Theatre, where it opened on 25 November 1952, it transferred to the St Martin's on 25 March 1974, without missing a performance. It became the world's longest running production on 12 April 1958, exceeding the run of "Chu-Chin-Chow", on its 2,239th performance.

"A group of people gathered in a remote part of the countryside discover, to their horror, that there is a murderer in their midst. Who can it be? One by one the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until at the last, nerve-shredding moment the identity and the motive are finally revealed. A cracking yarn and an irresistible treat for amateur sleuths everywhere!"

The Mousetrap is currently booking to 6 January 2018.
