New musical comedy Rumpy Pumpy! at Landor Theatre

New British musical comedy, Rumpy Pumpy!, by Barbara Jane Mackie, will run at the Landor Theatre, a fringe venue in south west London, from 14 to 19 April 2015.

The show will be directed by Thom Sellwood and is based on the true story of two Hampshire Women's Institute members and their worldwide tour to find the perfect brothel.

Synopsis: "Jean Johnson and Shirley Landels are contacted by brash brothel Madame, Holly Spencer, who claims to have the 'perfect brothel' that they are looking for - a health and safety checked brothel that the police and town Councillors are aware of, 'they're our best customers'. Travelling to Amsterdam and to the Bunny Farm Brothel in Nevada, Jean and Shirley are universally unimpressed by working conditions. When they finally do find the 'perfect brothel' in New Zealand, stripped of pimps, crime or Madames, they decide to head home and set up their own mobile brothel on the streets of Winchester to change people's hearts and minds."

Barbara Jane Mackie has worked for the BBC, where, as a Script Editor and Producer, she devised the BBC drama police series "Dangerfield" and the crime series "Dalziel & Pascoe". Rumpy Pumpy! is also in the process of being developed into a feature film.
