Nick Payne's play The Art of Dying returns to the Royal Court at the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs for a limited two week season from 1-12 July 2014.

The play was first performed as part of 'The Big Idea: Death in Open Court' festival of plays, ideas and events that were chosen to open Vicky Featherstone's first summer at the Royal Court Theatre. It is described as "a funny and heart-breaking new play about death, dying and the deceased. A mix of fact and fiction..."

Nick Payne performs the one man play which is directed by Michael Longhurst. His plays at the Royal Court include 'Constellations', for which he won the Evening Standard Award for Best New Play, and 'Wanderlust'. Other credits include 'Blurred Lines' at the Shed at the National Theatre, and 'The Same Deep Water As Me' at the Donmar Warehouse,
