Niklas Andersson joins Phantom of the Opera 28 April 03

Niklas Andersson will take over the role of 'Raoul' in The Phantom of the Opera, from Mon 28 April 2003 at Her Majesty's Theatre. (He replaces Matthew Camelle).

Niklas Andersson has previously starred as 'Chris' in "Miss Saigon" and as 'Marius' in "Les Miserables" in the West End. Born in Sweden, he has starred in "Kristina Fran Duvemala", an original musical by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, "Miss Saigon" and "West Side Story" in Scandinavia. He has also performed in concert in the presence of the Swedish Royal Family

Also from Mon 28 April 03 Nicky Adams will play Christine at certain performances. She most recently played 'Ellen' in the UK tour of "Miss Saigon". She has played 'Christine' before at the Edinburgh Playhouse and was 'Cosette' in the West End production of "Les Miserables".

This long running musical has been playing in London since 1986 and is currently taking bookings to 20 Dec 2003. It is directed by Harold Prince, it has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart .

This musical is based on Gaston Leroux's gothic novel of life beneath the stage of the Paris Opera House. The story concerns a mysterious masked man who falls in love with one of the singers called 'Christine'.
