Opening dates and ticket details announced for Lungs at the Old Vic

Ahead of Matthew Warchus' fifth season as artistic director at the Old Vic, tickets are now on sale for the upcoming production of Lungs starring Claire Foy and Matt Smith.

Written by Duncan Macmillan, Lungs follows a couple as they consider the environmental impact of giving birth. The play was first performed in Britain in 2013, winning best new play at the Off West End Awards.

Foy and Smith will reunite to appear in Lungs, after starring alongside each other as the Queen and Prince Phillip in Netflix's The Crown. Foy's stage credits include DNA and The Miracle at the National and Love, Love, Love at the Royal Court, with Smith's theatre credits including The History Boys at the National and Swimming with Sharks at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Lungs will open at the Old Vic on 14th October with a limited engagement to 9th November, with a date for the official opening night to be announced.

General public booking tickets for Lungs will go on sale on 25th June.

Productions to be performed as part of the upcoming season at the Old Vic include Endgame starring Alan Cumming and Daniel Radcliffe, the return of Jack Thorne's A Christmas Carol, as well as world premieres of A Very Expensive Poison and Local Hero.

Lungs is at the Old Vic from 14th October to 9th November.
