Following a world premiere at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, Musik will transfer to Leicester Square Theatre for a limited engagement, featuring six original songs by the Pet Shop Boys.

Musik will begin previews at Leicester Square Theatre on 5th February 2020, ahead of a press night on 11th February and will run to 1st March 2020.

The one-woman show follows Billie Trix, a rock star with a drug addict whose life sees her go from post-war Berlin to sell-out arenas around the world. Billie Trix is a fictional character who was first seen in the 2001 musical Closer to Heaven.

Frances Barber reprises her role as Billie Trix, originating the role in Closer to Heaven at the Arts Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe production of Musik, with West End credits including An Ideal Husband.

Ahead of the Leicester Square Theatre engagement, the Pet Shop Boys said: "When we wrote 'Closer to Heaven' almost 20 years ago, we loved the compelling outrageousness of the character Bille Trix. We have all discussed for many years the idea of creating her own one-woman show which would give us the chance to write more songs for her as she looks back on her incredible career."

Musik features an original book by Jonathan Harvey, whose playwriting credits include Beautiful Thing and Babies. Music and lyrics are by the Pet Shop Boys, with a catalogue of songs including 'West End Girls' and 'Always on my Mind'. Josh Seymour directs, set and costume design by Lee Newby, lighting design by David Plater and sound design by Fergus O'Hare.

Musik is at Leicester Square Theatre from 5th February to 1st March 2020.
