David Hare’s Grace Pervades tells the story of Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, stars of the Victorian stage, and Ellen’s troubled yet brilliant children, Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig.
Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Raison will star in David Hare’s Grace Pervades for a limited run at Theatre Royal Haymarket in the West End. Performances will begin in April 2026.
Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the play tells the story of Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, stars of the Victorian stage, and Ellen’s troubled yet brilliant children, Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig.
The creative team also includes set designer Bob Crowley, costume designer Fotini Dimou, lighting designer Peter Mumford, sound designer Elizabeth Purnell, composer Paul Englishby, and movement director Lucy Cullingford.
Further casting is still to be announced.
Fiennes was most recently seen on the London stage in an adaptation of Macbeth, also starring Indira Varma. In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, our critic said: "Fiennes masters Shakespeare’s language with perfectly precise diction, eliciting chuckles from the audience with his wry humour."
Grace Pervades was originally produced as part of the Ralph Fiennes Season at Theatre Royal Bath.
