Shakespeare's Globe The Play's The Thing season 2012.

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre has announced the line up for its 2012 season, titled The Play's The Thing. The four plays in repertoire all written by William Shakespeare are:

Henry V, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, produced by Shakespeare's Globe in association with Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse and starring Jamie Parker (Henry V). Henry V of England is insulted by the King of France. As a result, he leads his army into battle against France. Along the way, the young king must struggle with the sinking morale of his troops and his own inner doubts. The war culminates at the Battle of Agincourt.

The Taming Of The Shrew, directed by Toby Frow. Brutish, fortune-hunting scoundrel Petruchio tames his wealthy shrewish wife, Katharina in this battle of the sexes comedy.

Richard III, directed by Tim Carroll, designed by Jenny Tiramani, music by Claire van Kampen, produced by Shakespeare's Globe, Sonia Friedman Productions and Shakespeare Road and starring Mark Rylance (Richard III). Tragedy depicting the Machiavellian rise to power and subsequent short reign of Richard III of England.

Twelfth Night, directed by Tim Carroll, designed by Jenny Tiramani, music by Claire van Kampen, produced by Shakespeare's Globe, Sonia Friedman Productions and Shakespeare Road and starring Mark Rylance (Olivia). Comedy of gender confusion, in which a girl disguises herself as a man to be near the count she adores, only to be pursued by the woman he loves.
