Singular Sensations - Barbara Cook / Michael Feinstein

Two solo shows take place at the Haymarket Theatre from 7 to 25 Sep 2004, entitled Singular Sensations : Barbara Cook, from 7 to 11 Sep 2004; and Michael Feinstein, from 13 to 25 Sep 2004.

For two decades, from 1951 to 1971, Barbara Cook, now in her mid-seventies, was a leading star of the Broadway musical theatre, creating roles in such classics as Candide, The Music Man and She Loves Me!. She was last in the West End in May this year in In Barbara Cook's Broadway at the Gielgud Theatre. Her previous show, Mostly Sondheim, performed in both New York and London in 2001, was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event.

Michael Feinstein enjoys an active performance calendar, including major concert halls, symphony orchestras, intimate jazz clubs and college campuses. He is recognized for his commitment to the American popular song. In 2003, Michael received his fourth Grammy Award nomination for his Concord release, Michael Feinstein with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, his first recording with a symphony orchestra. Last year, Rhino/Elektra Music released The Michael Feinstein Anthology, a 2-disc compilation drawn from 14 albums spanning the years 1987 to 1996, featuring old favorites and previously unreleased tracks.
