StarKid's 'The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals' to play in the West End

Horror-comedy show The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals will play at the Apollo Theatre in the West End from 14-30 May 2026. The musical will be presented by US theatre company StarKid.

First seen online in 2018, the musical follows Paul Matthews, whose life is upended when aliens land in his tiny town of Hatchetfield and it turns into a fully staged musical.

This remounted version will be directed by Lauren Lopez. It is written by Nick and Matt Lang, with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim and choreography by James Tolbert.

The cast features Jon Matteson, Joey Richter, Jeff Blim, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Mariah Rose Faith Casillas, Corey Dorris, and Lauren Lopez.

StarKid is best known for its parody sensation A Very Potter Musical, which went viral in 2009. The company has amassed over 358 million views on its YouTube channel.
