Steven Pinder joins Wicked in the West End

Producers of the West End production of Wicked have announced that Steven Pinder who is currently playing Doctor Dillamond and The Wizard on the UK Tour, will join the London production as Doctor Dillamond from Monday 10 August until Saturday 19 September 2015.

Philip Childs will play his final performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on Saturday 8 August 2015.

The current cast of Wicked includes Emma Hatton (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero); Martyn Ellis (The Wizard), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Sam Lupton (Boq), and Liza Sadovy (Madame Morrible).

The show opened at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on 27 September 2006, following previews from 07 September, and has since been seen by almost 6 million people. Wicked is now the 10th longest-running show in the West End, and is now booking until 30 April 2016.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman.

The musical is directed by Joe Mantello, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, orchestrations by William David Brohn, musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, David Stone, and Michael McCabe.
