Swallows and Amazons at the Vaudeville from 15 Dec 2011

The National Theatre and The Children's Touring Partnership will present the Bristol Old Vic's production of Swallows and Amazons, for a limited 5-week run over the Christmas period.

The musical play will open at the Vaudeville Theatre on 19 Dec 2011, following previews from 15 Dec 2011, and play a five week limited engagement through to 14 Jan 2011.

Swallows and Amazons has book by Helen Edmundson and songs by Neil Hannon, based on the book by Arthur Ransome.

It is directed by Tom Morris, designed by Robert Innes Hopkins, costume design by Robert Innes Hopkins & Liesel Corp, lighting design by James Farncombe and sound by Jason Barnes.

All aboard The Swallow! Follow Captain John and his able crew as they set sail to Wildcat Island on an exotic adventure to encounter savages, capture dastardly pirates and defeat mortal enemies.

The play opened at Bristol Old Vic in Dec 2010 for a sell-out run; it was originally developed at the National Theatre Studio. Following its run at the Vaudeville Theatre, the production will embark on a UK tour.
