Tara Art's production of The Tempest, by William Shakespeare, opens at the Arts Theatre 10 Jan 2008, following previews from 9 Jan - running to 27 Jan 2008.

It is directed by Jatinder Verma and designed by Claudia Mayer

The cast includes Keith Thorne (Caliban/Gonzalo), Caroline Kilpatrick (Ariel), Tom Kanji (Antonio/Stefano), Robert Mountford (Prospero/Trinculo), Chris Jack (Ferdinand/Sebastian), Jessica Manley (Miranda/Alonzo)

"Tara Arts is a cross-cultural company with over thirty years of touring experience. The company creates visual theatre, drawing on Asian theatrical conventions. The group's physical and musical styles derive, in the main, from Indian performance techniques, which are combined with English traditions to create a 'Binglish' theatre experience accessible to everyone."

An act of terror, a treacherous brother, a tormented slave, an innocent daughte - a story of confinement and freedom. Exiled on a 'desolate isle', Prospero manipulates loved ones, servants and enemies alike as he plots his revenge to return home.
