Ovation Theatre presents The Blonde Bombshells of 1943 at the Above the Gatehouse Theatre in Highgate, north London, from 14 May to 29 June 2014.

This new stage production is written by Alan Plater and inspired by Ivy Benson's all girl dance band, as well as the television film 'The Last of the Blonde Bombshells'. Set in 1943, Betty's all female swing band are in desperate need of new recruits after losing many to the GI's. The show features a score of contemporary swing hits from Glenn Miller, Fats Waller and the Andrews Sisters and is a throwback to the musical highlights of the Second World War.

The cast includes: Katie Arnstein, Louisa Beadel, Josh Haberfield, Emma Jane Morton, Giovanna Ryan, Ashley Stirling, Eloise Kay, and Lauren Storer. It is directed by John Plews, with design by Phil Lindley, costumes by Suzi Lombardelli, lighting by Aaron J Dootson and sound design by Jon Raper.
