The Doctor in Spite of Himself at Drayton Arms Theatre

Exchange Theatre, in association with The Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulle, presents The Doctor in Spite of Himself, a French farce by Molière, newly adapted from 'Le Médecin Malgré Lui', at the Drayton Arms Theatre, a fringe pub venue near south Kensington, from 21 June to 13 July 2016.

The production will be directed by Paul Macauley and is part of the Part of the Bastille Festival 2016.

Synopsis: "Nothing is quite what it seems. Sganarelle is a drunk and beats his wife, who in return spreads the word that he is actually a brilliant doctor who can only work when he is beaten. Cue a stream of patients and beatings - and in spite of himself, it seems Sganarelle can perform miracles after all!"

Exchange Theatre produce unknown or rare French-speaking plays in English and are an international company established in London in 2006. The Doctor in Spite of Himself will be laying in both English and French.
