The Theatre Royal Stratford East and Infidel Musical Productions will present the premiere of Comedian David Baddiel's The Infidel - The Musical, based on the film of the same name. It will be directed by David Baddiel and Kerry Michael and will begin previews at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 03 Oct 2014, with an official opening set for 15 Oct and continue its limited engagement through to 02 Nov 2014.

Synopsis: 'East End Muslim Mahmoud Nassir is an ordinary family man whose life is turned upside down when he discovers that not only is he adopted, but that his birth parents are Jewish. The resulting cultural and religious chaos leads to an uproarious and insightful comedy about race, prejudice, confusion and what it really means to be yourself.'

The Infidel - The Musical features book and lyrics by David Baddiel, music by Erran Baron Cohen and additional material by Arvind Ethan David. Erran Baron Cohen is the older brother of actor/comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and has composed music for the movies 'Borat', 'Bruno' and 'The Dictator'. David Baddiel is perhaps best known for his comedy partnership with Frank Skinner, as well as BBC2's 'The Mary Whitehouse Experience' and Channel 4's 'A Stab in the Dark'.
