Directed by Peter Hall, the cast includes Felicity Kendal, Dan Stevens, Phoebe Nicholls, Annette Badland, Vivien Keene, Daniel Pirrie, Paul Ridley, Timothy Speyer, Cressida Trew, Barry Stanton.

Felicity Kendal is best known from the 70s BBC TV series "The Good Life". Her other TV credits include "Solo" and "The Mistress". Her London stage credits include ; "Amy's View" at the Garrick in 2006; "Happy Days" at the Arts in 2003 "Humble Boy" at the Gielgud in 2002; "Fallen Angels" at the Apollo in 2000; "Alarms & Excursions" at the Gielgud in 1998; "Waste" & "The Seagull" at the Old Vic in 1997; "Mind Millie For Me" at the Haymarket in 1996; "Indian Ink" at the Aldwych in 1995.

It is designed by Alison Chitty , lighting by Paul Pyant , sound by Gregory Clarke, and produced by Bill Kenwright Limited.

Amidst a backdrop of glittering decadence The Vortex centres on the tempestuous relationship of Florence and her hedonistic son Nicky. With the Mother's desire for younger men driven by her refusal to grow old, and the Son's obsession with competing for her love, Florence Lancaster insatiable needs are fundamentally the crux of the 'Vortex of beastliness' that drives Nicky to his demons.
