The Tower Theatre Company will present a new production of Simon Gray's drama Little Nell at the Theatro Technis in Camden, north London from 9 to 13 June 2015.

Opening on the 155th anniversary of Charles Dickens' death, the play follows the writer's love affair with Ellen Ternan, an actress 28 years his junior, whom he met when she was just 17 years old which was a secret he kept his entire life.

The audience sees Dickens' seduction of the young woman and watches as the affair develops. Nell later reconstructs her marriage to a headmaster in an attempt to lead a normal life. The story is told from the perspective of Ternan's son, who 50 years later decides to uncover the true nature of his mother's relationship with her "godfather" Charles Dickens.

The production is directed by Simona Hughes and produced by the Tower Theatre Amateur Dramatics company.
