Zorro to close 14 March 2009

Zorro The Musical, has posted closing notices at the Garrick Theatre. The last performance will be on 14 March 2009, when it would have run for around 8 and half months. (It was booking to 12 Sep 2009!)

The musical opened at the Garrick Theatre 15 July 2008, following previews from 30 June 2008, to terrific notices from the popular press: THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Dynamically choreographed musical...A truly highflying musical." THE GUARDIAN says, "Thoroughly enjoyable musical." THE TIMES says, "It's nonsense, but quite agreeable nonsense." THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "Enjoyable musical"

The cast includes Matt Rawle (Diego), Emma Williams (Luisa)

This new production with a cast of 30 are joined on stage by some of the world's leading Flamenco dancers.

Book & lyrics by Stephen Clark, music by The Gipsy Kings, Music co-composed and adapted by John Cameron, Original Story Stephen Clark & Helen Edmundson.

It is directed by Christopher Renshaw, choreography by Spanish choreographer and flamenco dancer Rafael Amargo, designed by Tom Piper, lighting by Ben Ormerod, sound by Mick Potter, musical supervisor is Mike Dixon, and Terry King as fight director.
