Actor Jack McBrayer was born and grew up in the US state of Georgia, before going on to study theatre at the University of Evansville in Indiana. Following his education, he began working with improve comedy The Second City and at the IO Theater in Chicago.

McBrayer was first seen on mainstream American television in the early 2000s, when he would appear as several different characters in sketches on the talk show Late Night with Conan O’Brien, developing a unique comedy style.

In 2006, having established himself as a reliable comedy actor, and after meeting comedian Tina Fey through his earlier improv work in Chicago, McBrayer landed himself a role in her TV show 30 Rock. The series is set behind the scenes at a sketch comedy TV show, and is based on Fey’s work as the head writer on Saturday Night Live. McBrayer played Kenneth Parcell, an NBC Page (effectively, a runner at the TV station), until the show’s conclusion in 2013.

McBrayer’s increased exposure through 30 Rock saw him appear in various other films and TV series across American media, including voice performances in Despicable Me, Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, and an episode of The Simpsons. On stage, McBrayer recently appeared in a one-night only concert performance of Crazy for You at the Lincoln Center in New York.

In 2019, he made his West End debut in the London production of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre. He played Ogie, a man who is set up on a short blind date with a waitress at Jenna’s diner, who features on the songs "Never Ever Getting Rid of Me" and “I Love You Like A Table”.
