Artistic director Josie Rourke has today announced the new season at the Donmar Warehouse. The season opens with Belleville, Amy Herzog’s acclaimed play. It stars James Norton and Imogen Poots as a newlywed couple from New York living in Paris. The piece also stars Faith Alabi and Malachi Kirby, and is directed by Michael Longhurst, who makes his Donmar debut. It runs from 7th December to 3rd February, with an official opening on 14th December.
Kwame Kwei-Armah was recently announced to succeed David Lan as artistic director of the Young Vic, and proved to be an immediately popular choice. The London-born former actor (he was a star of TV's Casualty and Holby City) turned award-winning playwright and theatre director is breaking a glass ceiling as he becomes the first British African-Caribbean director to run a major UK theatre.
