Andrew Kay and Associates will present The Book Club at the King's Head Pub Theatre in Islington, north London, from 11 October to 5 November 2016 starring English/Australian comedian and actress Amanda Muggleton.

"No-one ever talks about men going through menopause, but they do. It's called manopause. That's what Deborah Martin's husband is going through. He is on a mission to regain his youth and it does not include his wife, Deb. Finding herself with an empty nest and no-one to share it with, she disappears into her books, fantasizing about all the great writers and what she'd like to do with them! One of her friends talks her into joining their book club, something she had tried to avoid for years. It proves to be the making of her in more ways than one. Not only does she meet a fabulous group of women from all different ethnic and social backgrounds, but she actually fulfills one of her fantasies..."

Directed by Nadia Tass this "side-splitting comedy" comes to London following a run in Sydney Australia where Amanda won the 2015 Norman Kessell Memorial Award for Best Actor (female) for her role in production after giving a "marvellous tour de force" performance (Sydney Morning Herald).

Muggleton's stage work in Australia includes the title roles in comedies such as Shirley Valentine and Educating Rita. She starred as Maria Callas in Master Class, for which she won the 2002 Helpmann Award for Best Actress in a Play.

Tickets for The Book Club at the King's Head Theatre are now on sale.
